Bedworth took the short trip to Sutton Coldfield looking to improve their recent run of poor results. Bedworth started the first half looking the much better of the 2 teams forcing Sutton on the back foot and restricting them to playing long balls. Liam Lockett was causing the home defence issues when he picked the ball up and ran at the them leading to Bedworth winning a number of corners which they couldn’t capitalise on. Sutton came back into the game and on 24 minutes took the lead when a long ball forward wasn’t dealt with by the Bedworth defence and ended up at the feet of Nathan Caine who squared the ball for Leo Brown to convert. Liam Lockett came closest to levelling the scores when he cut in from the Bedworth right and his shot rattled the crossbar with Jonathon Brown in the Sutton goal beaten.

The second half really did not take off with Sutton happy to hold on to what they had and Bedworth struggling to break them down. The home side did have the best 2 when Caine was through one on one with Lomax but managed somehow to spoon his shot high and wide of the target. The other was a freekick from Joshua Webb that was goal bound until the frame of Lomax flung himself to his left to palm the ball away from the top corner. Bedworth put the pressure on in the last 10 minutes of the half winning numerous corners but again could not capitilise.
