Bedworth travelled to Spalding looking to be the first team to take points off their hosts this season.

In a first half of 2 contrasting styles with Spalding reminiscent of 1980s Wimbledon and Bedworth trying to play on the deck there was very little in goal mouth action.  Bedworth coped well with the aerial bombardment that Spalding were throwing at them and apart from a couple of half chances that Sam Lomax dealt with easily the hosts rarely troubled the visitors goal.  At the other end it was much the same story with The Greenbacks being repelled before they could get any clean cut chances to trouble the Spalding goal.

Half Time Spalding United 0 Bedworth United 0

If the first half was goalless due to the defences coming out on top then the second half was the exact opposite. When Curvin Sanderson-Ellis with a turning shot opened the scoring just before the hour mark the game sprang into life.  The visitors goal spurred the hosts on to turning the game into a battle and when 10 minutes later Elliot Sandy who was lucky to still be on the pitch after a blatent elbow to Elliot Parrott received the ball in the Bedworth box and flicked the ball over the head of a defender and fired past Lomax it was game on again.   With the game becoming more and more physical by the second it was again the introduction of Liam Murphy off the Bedworth bench that led to The Greenbacks taking the lead when Murphy stole the ball in the Spalding box and fed it to Desean Martin who composed as you like swept the ball into the Spalding net from the edge of the box it looked like The Greenbacks would not only halt the home sides 100% home record but condemn them to their first home defeat of the season.  Spalding though had the final say when they won a freekick out wide on the Bedworth right in the last minute of 5 added on and after a long delay for handbags in the box the ball ended up on Nathan Stainfields head who made no mistake to level the scores.  With just enough time for the restart to be taken Spalding celebrated like they had won the FA Cup whilst the Bedworth lads werent sure if it was a point gained or 2 lost.
