Bedworth hosted Loughborough Dynamo looking to put the upset of cup defeat and their poor league form behind them. Loughborough on the other hand were riding on a bit of a crest of a wave having won their last four league games scoring six in 2 of them. It was The Greenbacks though that started the game the stronger of the 2 teams controlling possession but unfortunately could not find that killer ball. It was Loughborough who fashioned the first chance of the game though when a corner was swung but was headed narrowly over Sam Lomax goal. Bedworth then went on the front foot themselves and both Coonnor Deards and Elliot Parrot were unlucky not to score with headed opportunities both putting their attempts wide. A tight first half ended with Bedworth just edging the game on possession and attempts.

Bedworth came out in the second half and went straight on the front foot raising the tempo and looking together A foothold in the game but as has been the way so many times this season with the Greenbacks controlling the game one break and the opposition take the lead. A ball out to Da Silva Bastos on the Loughborough right saw the Loughborough player put a cross across the Bedworth six yard box and Ryan Nesbitt was on hand to put the ball into the net to give the visitors the lead. Again this lifted Bedworth and the introduction of Luke Keen and Mitch Pigeon in the 70th minute led to The Greenbacks equaliser a ball flicked on by Pigeon found Sawyers who’s inch perfect cross allowed Keen with his first touch this season to equalise for Bedworth. With 15minutes to go Luke Rowe was adjudged to have brought down the dangerous Da Silva Bastos in the box. Curtis Burrows hit the penalty low to Sam Lomax right but the big stopper guessed the right way ensuring the scores remained tied. With time ticking down it looked like a point for each team was going to be the end result but bedworth forced a corner, Reece Blackmore swung the ball into the box and Elliot Parrot headed home from around the penalty spot with 3 minutes remaining. Bedworth played out a nervy 3 minutes for all supporters but the final whistle draws a close on the poor run of form. Could Sam Lomax penalty save be the turning point of the season for the Greenbacks?
