In an early kick off it was The Greenbacks who struck early after only 3 minutes when a clearance from a Coleshill corner found Eesa Sawyers who made one of his now trademark runs into the right hand side of the box beating the Coleshill left back and played a ball across the 6 yard box to a waiting Rich Blythe who calmly side footed the ball past Hathaway in the Coleshill goal to give Bedworth an early lead.  Coleshill fought back and had the majority of the play in the first 20 minutes.  The referee set his stall out early producing a yellow cards for Kieran Donnelly of Coleshill and Rich Blythe within the first 20 minutes.  Donnelly’s yellow would prove costly when in the 27th minute he fouled Ryan Moore and the referee had no hesitation in producing a second yellow for the Coleshill man.  Bedworth looked to capitalise on the extra man when a cross into the box was met by the head of Parrott and it looked to many people within the Oval that the ball had crossed the line before Hathaway clawed it out but the officials despite Bedworth protests waved play on.  Coleshill even though they we were down to 10 men continued to win a number of corners but were unable to produce any meaningful efforts on goal as the half drew to a close.
