Bedworth United v Carlton Town

Bedworth hosted Carlton in what was the 3rd game between the 2 sides this season already with Carlton winning 1-0 when Bedworth visited them in the second game of the season.  We also played them in the FA trophy drawing 1-1 after 90 minutes but eventually going out on penalties.

Carlton have been there or there abouts amongst the play off places all season and this game was always going to be a challenge for the Greenbacks.  Bedworth started well and were taking the game to the visitors with Eesa Sawyers particularly giving Carltons left back trouble on 3 occasions the Bedworth man got past him but unfortunately his final ball did find a green shirt.  Carlton came into the game in the last 15 minutes of thehalf but neither goalkeeper was really troubled.

The second half started with Carlton looking a bit more determined but the game started to degenerate into a scrappy affair with both teams giving away free kicks.  Ryan Nesbitt came closest to opening the scoring when a glancing header from a Luke Rowe ball bounced off the post with the Carlton keeper beaten.  Arrean Opoku saw red for the visitors with 2 minutes left to play Bedworth turned the screw but the visitors held out to ensure the points were shared.
