Ronan Gilbert (pictured above) is the new manager of Bedworth United Reserves.
He’s said, “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to manage Bedworth United Reserves and I’d like to thank Stuart and Jamie for trusting me in this role. This is a great step in my managerial career and I want to continue the great work that has been done over the last couple of seasons by the previous management team. The club’s philosophy and aspirations align with my own and you can see from the outside looking in, Bedworth is a club going in the right direction and I cannot wait to play my part in the club’s upward trajectory.
Recently I have been managing in the MJPL, where we finished 7th and 5th in a very tough and competitive league. During my time at Sutton I was able to create a hardworking and competitive environment, whilst playing an attacking style of football, which is something I want to implement at Bedworth. My previous work in football also includes Romulus u16’s, West Midland Foxes, Lutterworth Town reserves manager and working at the Aston Villa Foundation for 5 years. I also have a degree in football coaching and management which was completed at the Etihad Stadium with UCFB.
I am confident I can hit the ground running and believe that we can lead this group to success again this season whilst providing opportunities for progression into the first team. I’m really excited for all that’s to come.”
And joining him will be Head Coach Marcus Ridley.
Marcus “I started back in 2018 with Leamington FC u10s (u14s as of September) who I currently coach. In our first 2 competitive seasons we finished 3rd last season and 2nd this one. I was also part of the backroom team at Leamington u23s our first season together and went on to win the title in the 21/22 season and was part of the team of the set up for half the season this year until I was called upon in the first team.
As soon as I heard Bedworth United Reserves were looking it was an easy decision to join a club not only with a strong pathway but also a club on the up with fantastic facilities and a great relationship with first team coaches Stuart and Jamie. My ambition is a simple yet effective one, to make the club the best it can be, to win everything available to us but most importantly, develop the players and see them progress into the first team and develop my own game in the process.”
Welcome to the Greenbacks!
