Bedworth Utd Academy – New Signing – Ryley Smith

Ryley has agreed to join Bedworth Utd Academy after several other Academy’s wanted him. He has played for Coventry Copsewood since the age of 5, along with Sky Blues in the Community and has represented his County West Midlands Schools on several occasions this season. Ryley is a versatile and athletic player, and has attracted the attention of several professional academy’s, however, he has committed to the Bedworth Utd Scholarship Programme which starts in September 2024. Ryley attends Caludon Castle School and will be undertaking his GCSE exams in the summer. Both Ryley and his dad have been impressed with the number of Academy graduates progressing into the 1st team along with the outstanding work Robbie Brannan has done with the u18s this season. Ryley’s dad has said about joining the Academy, ‘The main reason we have signed for Bedworth Utd is the opportunities on offer, with the progression into the 1st team through u18s and u21s, along with the excellent coaching on offer’.
