MATCH REPORT: Bedworth United 0-2 Loughborough Dynamo

Two second half goals from Loughborough Dynamo dampen a spirited Greenbacks display as the hosts fell to another home defeat.

Bedworth started the match with five at the back with Rowe and Moore as the overlapping wingbacks and this made The Greenbacks set up to be hard to break down against table toppers Loughborough Dynamo.
The Greenbacks started the better of the two sides and had an early opportunity to take the lead. Strong hold up play by Molyneux enabled him to create space for himself before playing a nice through pass into his strike partner and new signing Star Mayemba, his effort was drilled low and hard but keeper Joe Fryatt was able to parry out of danger.
Despite not having much control of the game in the first half, Loughborough nearly took the lead. A quick throw in down the line put through winger Luke White, his shot had beaten keeper Sam Lomax but was denied by the post as the ball was cleared out of danger by the Bedworth defence.
The first half wasn’t glittered with chances but The Greenbacks could be pleased with how they competed against a good side and looked the more likely to take the lead.

However, the visitors started the brighter side in the second half and just six minutes in, The Moes took the lead. Rio Molyneux raced past substitute Josh Endall and despite his cross not being one of his best, Lomax failed to deal with it and spilled the ball into the path of Evan Garnett who was in the right place at the right timeto volley in the bottom corner to make it 1-0 to Loughborough Dynamo on 51 minutes.
The Moes were getting a grip of the game at this point and should have made it 2-0. Mitchell Robinson heading wide from a set piece from close range.
However, The Greenbacks had a great chance to equalise, again through Star Mayemba. Ryan Moore sent in a great cross that the Loughborough defence failed to deal with, and as Mayemba twisted and turned, he swiveled and got his shot away but his effort blazed over from close range.
Bedworth came close again soon after. Liam Murphy put through Jamie Molyneux, he held the ball and set it back to the onrushing Rich Blythe, whose deflected shot swung wide of the post and out for a corner.
But Loughborough Dynamo put the game to bed as Rio Molyneux doubled The Moes lead on the 84th minute. Molyneux picked the ball up halfway in the Bedworth half and carried it a few yards before lifting his shot from 20 yards over 6 ft 9 keeper Sam Lomax’s head and in the back of the net to make it 2-0.
Bedworth had an opportunity to get a late consolation goal in the 90th minute. A great lobbed pass from Moore slipped in Molyneux who cut back on his left but was stretching for his shot and his effort went wide of the post.
