Bedwoth United U18 Midland Floodlit youth team’s Joel Richards Memorial Cup semi final has been moved from Monday at Solihull Moors to Wednesday here at The OVAL.
They would love all of you to come and support our young Greenbacks in their quest to reach the final against Premier division side Solihull Moors.
The Greenbacks started their cup run against a strong Rugby Town side eventually winning 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes at Rugby. Next the draw saw them get home advantage against Coton Green who they dispatched with ease 8-0 here at The OVAL. The quarter final saw them drawn against fellow Eastern division side Racing Club Warwick, the young Greenbacks in a close game ran out eventual 3-2 winners to set up the semi final against Solihull Moors. The fixture was drew to be played at Solihull Moors Tally Ho venue but due to the bad weather we have already had which is expected to carry on this week Solihull requested the fixture to be reversed and give up home advantage to Bedworth. Bedworth’s Under 18s so far have had an extremely successful season only tasting defeat once against much higher opposition in the FA Youth Cup. They sit top of the pile in the Eastern division 6 points clear with a game in hand and are also still in the Midland Floodlit League Cup where they face a trip to Rugby Town in the quarter final.
Wednesdays kick off time is 7.45 and there is a £3 admission fee.
