With Monday’s announcements from the Government and The Football Association, Bedworth United called an emergency Board meeting on Tuesday 17/03/2020 to discuss what impact the COVID-19 outbreak will have on us and more importantly you the Supporters, Players, Coaches and Parents of all Bedworth United teams.
Following the Governments announcement for people to avoid social contact and gatherings where possible, the FA are now advising that all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future.
They have also decided to postpone all matches across all FA competitions, including those outside of the professional game, until 3 April.
The county FA are committed to trying to complete all competition fixtures and will be liaising with the relevant parties to establish appropriate options to do so.
Throughout this period, we have taken Government advice with the priority being the health and wellbeing of all.
We will continue to work closely with the FA and County FA during this time to provide guidance and support.
As a club we are receiving daily updates from both the FA and the County FA and the situation within English football at all levels remains under regular review. Further updates will follow as needed.
Thank you for your continued efforts and patience, The most important thing for Bedworth United is that we do all we can to keep all of you as far away from the risk of being infected as we can.
Just to clarify As a club we have now suspended all training, games and gatherings at The OVAL until further notice. Please keep following our social media streams for up to the minute updates. We will endeavour to keep you all as informed as we possibly can of any updates.
Can we please ask that all communication about COVID-19 are directed to Andrew Stickley, the club secretary via email email@example.com Can we please use this method only as it allows us to consolidate questions and then answer them via the website. As I am sure you will understand we will no doubt be getting the same query a number of times this way we can share the information more widely as opposed to answering individuals.
Rest assured the club is in a good position ready to respond when the FA and Government allow us to continue football activities. We look forward to welcoming you all back at The OVAL as soon as possible. Please keep yourselves and your loved ones safe during these testing times.
For and on behalf of the board of Directors
Neill Rayson-Randle, Chairman Bedworth United Football Club
