Charity Partners

Bedworth United are delighted to announce that this year we have teamed up with 2 charities that we will be fund raising for:

The first is Dementia UK we have held our annual coaches v coaches game for this charity raising over £800 pounds already.

For those of you who dont know who dementia UK are, they are charity that provide Admiral Nurses to Dementia sufferers and their families,

Admiral Nurses provide the specialist dementia support that families need. When things get challenging or difficult, admiral nurses work alongside the entire family, giving them one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions.

The unique dementia expertise and experience an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline – it helps families to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.

The Second Charity we are supporting is Help 4 Heroes.  I can speak from own experience here as some of you know before my life here I was in the Royal Engineers as a search team commander unluckily I got caught in an explosion on a tour of Afghanistan which ended my army career. Without the support of Help 4 Heroes with a lot of things I would probably not be as mentally well rounded and as mobile as I am.  I spent a lot of time in their recovery centres and thanks to them I am in a much better place in my life.

Today, seven people will be medically discharged from the Armed Forces and their lives will change forever. In an instant, these highly-trained individuals will lose the camaraderie, purpose and career which has been their life.

Help 4 Heroes provide recovery and support for the Armed Forces community whose lives are affected by their service, no matter when they served.

Their aim is to

empower Veterans and Service Personnel to look beyond illness and injury. Every penny they raise, facility they run and activity they offer is to help Veterans and Service Personnel reach their potential, regain their purpose and have a positive impact on society.
