Charity Benefits

Bedworth United were happy to last night present a cheque for £1075.98 to Dementia UK which was raised during the annual Bedwroth United coaches v coaches game.  Chairman Neill Rayson- Randle (the winning manager on the day) along with Dean Wainwright and Andy Parsons who organised the event presented the cheque to regional Dementia UK co-ordinator Anna McNee and Admiral Nurse Tracey Chapman

When we hold the Coaches v Coaches game we always pick a charity that proceeds can go to and this year Dementia UK was chosen as they have supported the Wainwright family throughout their journey of caring for a family member with dementia. After the family were referred to Dementia UK by their GP Tracey was introduced to them as their admiral nurse for those of you who have never heard of an Admiral nurse they provide the specialist dementia support that families need.

When things get challenging or difficult, our nurses work alongside people with dementia, and their families: giving them one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions. The unique dementia expertise and experience an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline–it helps families to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.

Admiral Nurses work with people and families affected by all types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies.

Pictured below is the Wainwright family with Tracey Chapman who they will always be in debt to for the assistance and care she has provided their family.

This year alone Bedworth United have supported numerous charities and with donations and holding events here at The OVAL we have helped to raise over £10,000 for various good causes so please keep supporting our charity partners by attending events or even just putting your loose change in one of the collection tins around the ground.

As a community club it is important that we support events such as these and with our new social media footprint it will be even easier to find out what is going on at The OVAL.

Please keep checking back as photos of the coaches v coaches game will be appearing soon.
