U13 Warriors V GNP 26.1.2020

26th January saw Warriors play GNP at home for a 4pm kick off. Ethan joined warriors for his second game of the season following great enthusiasm with the team the week before. GNP came out fighting and scored in the first minute but Warriors soon got possession and after Evan was fouled in the box George scored a well placed penalty. GNP scored again in 19 minutes, a questionable foul in the box on Evan again left Warriors determined to stay strong seeing the game 2-1 to GNP at half time.

Syd replaced Evan on the left wing and dominated his position. GNP managed to lob Lewis in goal after 2 minutes of the second half quickly followed by a great football by Syd down the wing crossing the ball to Callum who scored giving the keeper no chance of saving it. GNP scored again after 8 minutes. Syd secured our 3rd goal followed by Callum again scoring his second of the match after 21 minutes. Both teams were determined not to finish the game 4-4

Curtis was injured in the dying minutes of the game and while he was waiting treatment in the box GNP scored their 5th goal. The game ended 4-5 to GNP after a well fought game by both teams.

U13 Warriors V Alvis Junior U13 Eagles 5.1.2020

The first game of 2020 saw Warriors at home against Alvis. We welcomed Freya to the team in midfield and she had a great game showing determination and passion from the whistle. The team initially appeared intimidated by the height of our opposition and Alvis soon took advantage of this taking ownership of the game. Unfortunately Lewis (GK) clashed with an Alvis striker very early resulting in a knee injury, the same knee which put him out most of last season, his team mates wish him a speedy recovery.

Ollie W replaced Lewis in goal, Alvis took the lead scoring in the 15th and 17th minutes. Following a 24th minute goal Alfie J unfortunately gave away a penalty after the ball bounced up and hit his hand in the box. Half-time score 4-0 to Alvis.

Warriors came out fighting in the second half and further changes saw Curtis stepping into goal, Mac replacing Alfie W and Callum replacing Syd. Alvis made it 5-0 after only 5 minutes but Warriors were determined to fight and scored in the 6th minute – a throw in from Freya found George who crossed the ball into Harrison who hit the back of the net securing our first goal. Evan followed this up scoring in the 10th minute which proved the team had come out positively and found confidence after half-time. Harrison had some good balls played through to him from defence and goal kicks but even his speed was not enough against a much taller team. Alvis continued to score goals scoring in the 28th minute. After a number of goal mouth battles, which Warriors managed to defend, Alvis scored again in the 33rd minute. Finally the last goal in the 34th minute saw the game end 8-2 to Alvis.

Well deserved player of the match went to Freya.

U13 Warriors V Stratford Town Match Report 6.10.19

Sunday 6th October we played Stratford Town in the Cup. This game was fantastic! The Warriors played them off the park. It was a bright sunny morning at Morrell College and our boys completely dominated the first half. Evan took the lead in 9 minutes, Stratford equalised by 21, quickly followed by Harrison in 22 and Callum in 27. At 29 minutes Ollie W scored a superb header into the net. Half time a confident 4-1

The second half was very similar and goals were quickly fired in by George x2, Evan x2 and Harrison x2. Two hat tricks by Evan and Harrison in one game, a fantastic effort from all of the team and thoroughly enjoyed by all – a triumphant 10-3 win.

U13 Warriors V U13 Juniors Match Report

The game today saw both Bedworth teams play on their home pitch for an early kick off. Juniors won the toss against George, captain for Warriors today. The first half saw a fair game with both teams playing well, Juniors having a few more shots but Lewis was a cat in goal as usual and made some great saves and challenges.

Twenty minutes in, Lewis came out for the challenge but was dribbled around, lucky Curtis chased the ball down and made a saving goal line clearance. Warriors took the lead after thirty minutes with a great ball from Alfie W playing a different position today in left midfield feeding the ball to Harrison whose shot was deflected by the keeper. George picked up the deflection and found the back of the net. The first half ended 1-0 to Warriors.

Mac replaced Alfie in the second half playing on the left wing and Juniors started the second half fighting hard and scored the equaliser after twelve minutes. Warriors continued to defend well with Syd playing left back. He had a great game supported by Ollie W in midfield and Ollie J in defence. Harrison’s pace was not quite enough today against a fast defender. In the closing minutes, Juniors chipped Lewis to win the game 2-1 after Warriors queried a hand ball. Man of the match was Syd for his hard work and determination at right back.

U13 Warriors V Grove Farm Match Report

This weeks game was played in soggy conditions. The fixture gave the lads an opportunity to get a result against a team who equally have struggled to get going this season in a tough league. We started so well and owned the first half. Man of the match Ollie J bossed the back four making great decisions and tackles. Utd were fantastic and went into half time with a 2-0 lead with goals from Jon and a worldly cross/shot from Curtis.

We started the second half strong and George bagged himself a well deserved goal. With 20 minutes left Grove Farm got one back and you could feel the nervousness from the lads, parents and coaches. The game went on and Grove Farm pressed, playing against a nervous Utd team. 3-2 came with 3 minutes to play and the lads held out for the first well deserved win of the season.

Great effort from the lads, same effort to come into training and next weeks game.
