BUFC Statement regarding The OVAL

Following the recent decisions made by the Government and Leagues in our area.

We have looked at the demographic of the users of The OVAL and its obvious we have a number of players and/or coaching staff that live in Coventry or Leicestershire.

As a result the club have decided to close the facilities at The Oval, except for the College Course which comes under the Department for Education and has different legislation under Tier 4 requirements.

This decision has been made for a number of reasons including the management of which players can and cannot train, the fairness of us continuing for some players/teams and not being able to for others and the management of finances.

We also have a duty of care to our staff and volunteers and whether we would be acting as a responsible employer by asking these people to have to attend the stadium in the current climate.

We will be keeping the position under continual review and when any changes are made to the Tier that this area is in or any changes to the rules within each Tier we will look at this decision again.

You will be kept up to date of any developments as soon as they are received by the club.
