Bob Gardner

We are sad to inform fellow Greenbacks of the passing of Bob Gardner who will be fondly remembered as being the carrier of a ‘Magic Sponge’ during his 20 Years with us attending to all the 1st Team injuries on and off the Pitch. Not sure what he would make of all the sprays and muscle massages that are seen today!!

Unsure of the dates of his tenure with us but suggest it may be spanning 70’s – 90’s but perhaps some of our Supporters can be more specific from the photo’s. When leaving his Home Town Club he carried out similar duties at Coleshill and Rugby. Aways willing to support events at The Oval and carry out any Stadium work when required.

Having a great sense of humour and a big smile Bob suffered latterly from ill health passing away on Saturday (at 3.00pm!!) 9th March. He was born and raised in Bedworth, son to Elsie and George and husband to Audrey, never losing his Beduth accent working from the Age of 15 to 79 – remarkable

His Family Garry, Dawn, Rebecca, Arran Faulkner and Jamie Evans are joining us today to join us in remembering a Gentleman and a true Greenback’
