Club Captain Rich Blythe has agreed terms to return for the 2022/23 season. This is Rich’s second spell with the club after leading the Greenbacks to playoff glory in his first time here. Rich is an inspirational character around the club and had one of his most prolific scoring seasons in a green shirt last time round. Rich even though he was born in Coventry played youth level for Wales. Rich can name Aston Villa, Barwell, Rugby and Cov Sphinx amongst his previous clubs.
Manager Stuart Storer said “To keep Blythy here can only be good for the squad. He is a larger than life character around the squad and is a great motivator for those around him both on and off the pitch. He has a good footballing brain and is always looking to pass his experience onto the younger members of the squad. At this level Rich’s ability on the ball and talent for spotting a forward pass is invaluable. Rich is always a great addition to any squad and I am pleased that we have managed to secure his talent for the start of another season.”
Rich stated on his signing “I am really happy to be returning to Bedworth and I am particularly excited this time round with the players that we are looking to sign, I believe the club is going in the right direction on the pitch and I am proud that I can be a part of it.”
