Bedworth v Loughborough Dynamo Preview

Bedworth start a run of 3 home games on the trot this week with the first seeing The Greenbacks host Loughborough Dynamo.

Loughborough have had a good start to the season winning 6 of their 9 games played in the league losing just 2 one on the first day of the season against Boldmere St Michaels and the other against high flying Halesowen.  Their last league game was a 1 -1 draw at home against Coleshill Town thanks to a last minute Kevin DaSilva Bastos strike, and their last outing was a 2-1 loss in the 3rd qualifying round of the FA Trophy against fellow step 4 side Worksop Town from the East division of the Northern Premier League. Loughborough took a 2nd minute lead but were pegged back on the half hour and then 7 minutes later behind.

The Greenbacks seemed to have turned the corner and are now picking up points so the league table isn’t telling the full story on current form over the last 4 games Bedworth have only claimed 3 more  points than their visitors. Bedworth’s good run started with a nervy 1 nil win against Daventry followed by the same score line against Hinckley, then the eventful 3-3 draw against Corby lastly a 2 nil win last week at Dereham has meant that the Greenbacks have taken 10 points from the last 12 available a much better return than from the first 5 games of the season.

Stu Storer commented “The last 3 weeks have been good for us but we can not allow ourselves to rest on our laurels and think its going to be an easy ride from here on.  The players now have that belief in themselves that we as a coaching team had in them from the start but saying that we are still out and about looking at players who we could  bring in to strengthen us in certain positions. The mood amongst the squad is extremely positive and as we all know positivity breeds positivity so we will be looking to keep that going.  Loughborough have had a good start to the season but on recent form the 2 teams are a lot closer than the league table suggests so the game tomorrow will be a tight affair but if we play like we have done over the past few games we will give any team in this league a run for their money. ”
