Bedworth travel the 90 miles into Cambridge again this Saturday to face off against third from bottom side Wisbech Town. Wisbech have found going hard having not been out of the bottom 4 since the season started with their last points coming in the last game of 2021 when they ran out 3 nil winners against fellow strugglers Soham Town Rangers. This does not mean this game will be easy for the Greenbacks as some of Wisbech results can confirm having recently only lost by a solitary goal to high flying Halesowen and in that game playing the last quarter of an hour with 10 men after keeper Richard Platt was sent of. When the teams last met at The OVAL back in October the game finished goalless in an ill tempered affair where Wisbech picked up 5 yellow cards. With Wisbech supporters having not seen their side score this calendar year yet there will be no doubt that they will be up for the fight looking for vital points to drag themselves out of that relegation dog fight.
Bedworth will be looking for points as much as Wisbech but for very different reasons. The Greenbacks currently on one of the best runs of form in the league will be desperate to keep the momentum up and keep that push for the top 5 alive. If results can go in their favor and they gain all 3 points themselves that gap to the top 5 could be down to 3 points come the end of the day. Bedworth had Luke Keen to thank for the 3 points last week when his brace from the bench overturned a 1 nil deficit to send the Greenbacks home happy. Stuart Storer has been shuffling his pack over the last few games and has a fully fit squad for the journey into Cambridge.
Wisbech havent been the most prolific of scorers this season with only bottom club Histon finding the net less times than the side from the Fenland Stadium. The danger men in front of goal for the Fenmen are Dylan Edge and Toby Allen who have scored 7 and 5 respectively out of Wisbech’s total of 20 goals in the league this season.
