Bedworth United v Sutton Coldfield Preview

Bedworth make the short journey on Tuesday night to face Sutton Coldfield after a break which has allowed the players a bit of recovery after a hectict start to the season.

Sutton have 6 points on the board from their 6 games played with 3 points coming in their first game of the season against Yaxley and then a further 3 against Cambridge City after 2 losses against Chasetown and Boldmere St.Michaels. Most recently they have lost 3-0 against Coleshill and on Saturday fell to a solitary goal from Loughborough Dynamo.  Out of the 5 goals they have scored this season it has been former Greenback Rhys Hilton who has netted 3 times that is leading the scoring for them.

Bedworth have had an elongated break which has allowed Sarah to work on the injury list which grew over the first 4 games quiet dramatically.  With a few doubts still the team will no doubt have to be changed from the last time out when a creditable 0-0 draw against Chasetown saw Bedworth pick up their first point of the season after a particularly difficult start.

Stuart Storer stated today “I am glad to be able to get going again and it was a shame we had the break after picking up a point as we would have liked to get a bit of momentum off that result.  The break though has allowed us some time to work on a few things and also allowed Sarah some time to work on the inury list.  With Eesa (Sawyers) and Jazz (Luckie) moving on to pastures new it will allow me to add to the squad and with Andy, Jamie and myself all attending different games this weekend on scouting missions we have a few names on the shortlist we would like to bring in, but as at all levels of football these negotiations take time and we won’t be held to ransom by players no matter how talented they are.  I have confidence that we can as group move forward quiet quickly now and at this stage of the season a couple of wins soon catapults you up the league table, also having played a game and in some places a couple of games less than others in the league the league table is a bit of a mis representation, until we get 10 games in and it settles down we cant really judge where we line up against others.  For those that are travelling as always thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you there.”
