Bedworth welcome Rugby to The OVAL on Saturday for the first of 2 friendly games in which could be classed as a mini pre season in the hope that league fixtures will restart soon.
Rugby are currently placed 7th in the United Counties League Premier Division having played 10 won 6 drew 1 and lost 3, with their most recent games before lockdown being a 2-0 win away at GNG Oadby Town FC, a 3-3 draw at home against Quorn FC after battling back from 3-0 at half time and a 2-1 loss away at Lutterworth Town.
The Greenbacks go into the game riding high in the Southern Central league sitting second on goal difference with only 1 loss to their name in their first 8 games. Bedworths last competitive game saw them run out 3-2 victors against a strong Welwyn Garden City side coming back from 2-0 down at half time with Rich Blythe scoring the winner in the 94th minute. Prior to that Stuart Storer took an injury ravaged side to Kidlington and were unlucky not come away with all 3 points conceding late on to share the spoils after Ishmael Dawson put The Greenbacks ahead.
