Bedworth United v North Leigh

Bedworth travel into Oxfordshire to face league rivals North Leigh on Tuesday night.  North Leighs record this season closely resembles the Greenbacks with the only difference being 1 point.  North Leighs record reads 9 wins 2 draws and 9 losses.  North leighs started the new year with an extremely disappointing 1-0 loss away to rock bottom Wantage town,  The followed that up with a hard fought victory against fellow Oxfordhire side Thame United.  Saturday they lost away to Berkhamstead by the same 3-2 scoreline coming from 3-0 down to narrowly missing out taking a point.  North Leigh started the season very well only losing 1 game in August but since then they haven’t managed to get a run of results together to build on their early success.

The Greenbacks are on a decent run at the minute and will be looking to extend that run with a victory here at North Leigh,  With 5 wins out of their last 7 games the greenbacks seem to be gathering momentum and are currently one of the in form teams in the league.  With recent wins against both Barton Rovers and St Neots The Greenbacks have firmly put themselves in contention for one of the playoff places come the end of the season.  Stu Storer will no doubt be shuffling the pack again after the effort shown on Saturday when they were down to 10 men.  The only injury doubt for the Greenbacks are Khaellem Bailey-Nicholls who hasn’t recovered from the hamstring injury he received on New years day at Halesowen.  Blaize Punter will be back in contention for a place in the starting 11 after missing Saturday due to illness.  Alex Troke will also be back in contention after struggling through as a substitute on Saturday with a toe injury.  The Greenbacks will be looking to take all 3 points from this rescheduled game to further their push for the playoff places with the league being so congested with only 9 points separating 5th place to 13th place winning games against teams in and around us is vital.  Come and support the Greenbacks as the push for the playoffs starts.  If you can’t get to the game remember you can get up to the minute match information on the clubs official Twitter and you will be able to view the Highlights of the action on our You Tube channel after the game.
