Bedworth United host Lye Town in the 2nd round of the Birmingham Senior County Cup with the winners set to face Stourbridge in the next round.
The Senior Challenge Cup is the most prestigious competition hosted by Birmingham County Football Association.
The competition is over a 100 years old and has professional clubs such as Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers enter.
This competition is for all clubs that are at or above Step 5 in the National League System.
The current holders are Leamington.
Historically Bedworth have always given their youngsters a chance in this competition playing the U21’s, This has been a good stepping stone in recent years for the likes of James Sanderson and Liam Murphy who have now cemented their places in the first team squad with both scoring this season. This year though due to the lack of game time the first team have had recently with postponements Stuart Storer is looking to play a stronger side.
Lye town are in the Midland League Premier Division and currently sit in 6th place, having finished 8th last season.
Kick Off will be 7.45pm
Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control there will be no supporters food for this game. Don’t worry though your pork and stuffing batches will return on boxing day.
