The Greenbacks make the short trip to Junction 23 of the M1 to face Loughborough Dynamo. In the reverse fixture at The OVAL earlier in the season Bedworth ran out 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Elliott Parrott and Luke Keen. With just 2 points separating the sides in the league table and the form book over the last 6 games has the same difference. Last time out same as ourselves Loughborough drew 2-2 after going 2 goals in front away to Daventry Town and before that had a resounding 5-0 victory against Shepshed Dynamo. Loughboroughs home form has been a mixed bag winning 5 drawing 2 Losing 4 giving them 17 points from a possible 33 at the ADT stadium.
The Greenbacks maintained their 8 game unbeaten run last Saturday with a 2-2 draw against Cambridge City in a far from vintage performance thanks to a first half penalty that was converted by Ryan Nesbitt and a 30 yard special from Liam Lockett. with 4 wins and 4 draws in the current run Bedworth have picked up 16 points from a possible 24 having not tasted defeat since the 13th November when they lost 3-2 away to Daventry Town. Since then the away form which was the Greenbacks achilles heel earlier in the season has been stabilised and with 2 wins and 2 draws on their last 4 away trips the away form is vastly improved.
On the goalscoring front Curtis Burrows and Courey Grantham both have 9 for Loughborough closely followed by Kevin Da Silva Bastos on 8. In a twist of fate our own Ryan Nesbitt had scored 6 of Loughborough’s league goals this season before his transfer to the Greenbacks where he has also scored 6 so far, fingers crossed that Ryan can add to his tally on Saturday against his ex club.
