Bedworth are back in Northern Premier Midlands Division action this week after the break for the FA Cup. Bedworth will be looking to get their first points on the board against newly promoted Boldmere St Michaels.
Boldmere have acquitted themselves well in their first 3 game having won 2 and drew 1 which sees them sitting fifth in the league at this early stage. The season opener saw them face Loughborough Dynamo away which they ran out 1 nil winners thanks to an early goal from Alex McSkeane their next game was a 1-1 home draw against Sporting Khalsa. The FA Cup then saw them face the same opposition but this time away from home and they ran out 1 nil winners again thanks to an McSkeane goal. Tuesday night saw them travel to neighbours Sutton Coldfield where they ran out 2-1 winners.
The Greenbacks have had a rough start to the season with the fixture list not being very kind to them having them face 2 of last seasons beaten playoff teams in the first 2 games. Although results haven’t gone their way the performances and chances created have been promising and if these continue surely results will soon follow.
Stuart Storer said “The start of the season has been difficult, playing the two of the top teams from last season within four days of each other was always going to be hard. We were bitterly disappointed about bowing out of the cup last week to Newcastle in the replay, especially as we must have dominated 80% of theplay. Putting things into perspective it makes me pleased with the performances and effort but like you, frustrated and disappointed with the results, so patience and belief will be key now.”
