Saturday sees the Lions on the Road again this time with their first trip into Leicestershire to face Aylestone Park Youth who finished 2nd in the league last year with a record of played 22 won 15 drew 5 and lost 2 amassing a total of 50 points. This will be the sternest test that the Lions have faced so far they should not be going into the game though thinking they can’t compete the first half of last weeks game against Billbrook proved that. Unfortunately Raees is unavailable for the game with his back. We do have good news though on the injury front Kyle is available and both Nash and Luke are passed fit to play after their knocks they picked up against Billbrook last week. JT is still out and is seeing a specialist next Thursday which will hopefully then give us a prognosis as to whether he will be returning this season or not. New signing Owen Evans will probably not feature as his registration is still pending with the league.
Aylestone so far this season have played 2 games winning both coming from 3-2 behind against Abbey Hulton Youth FC to run out 6-3 winners and then beating our old foe Alvis 5-3 they are currently sitting 10th in the table with a 100% record. The Bedworth lads need to go into this game fully committed and if each player plays to their full ability then we will give them a game. We have stuttered so far against teams through individual errors which unfortunately have cost us goals and we have also been wasteful in front of goal. If we can convert the chances we make and cut out errors then no doubt we can do well. Aylestone have conceded 3 goals in their last 2 games so we know that they aren’t tight at the back and chances will come. On the flipside of that though they have scored 9 so they obviously have players who know where the net is if we defend like we did in the game against Allscott as a unit from the front then we will be hard to break down.
