Bedworth United Lions Hit double figure 2 days in a row

This weekend was the first time that we have asked the boys to play Saturday and Sunday and choosing possibly the hottest weekend of the year to do it was not in the plans.  We started well against Tamworth Academy with a resounding 12 nil victory with Kyle Rogers bagging 4, John Patten bagging a hat-rick Raees Vorajee getting a brace and Travis Lane, Nash Asquith and Charlie Horne all getting their names on the score sheet.  With a score like that you would think it would be a forward player who scooped man of the match but it was actually Harrison Martin in goal who took the honour because of his concentration making 3 great saves when called upon but also being an option for the back 3 and his pass completion rate was better than anybody else’s.

Sunday we played NFK Burbage who we have narrowly beat the last 3 seasons in pre season matches.  the score this year was very different than previous with the Greens running out 13 nil winners with John Patten getting a double hat- trick Raees Vorage and Kyle Rogers both getting hat-tricks as well and Josh P coming up with a rare goal as well. With 6 goals there was no other real contender for man of the match except John Patten.  This result sealed a weekend where the young Lions have scored 25 and kept 2 clean sheets and have played the style that we have been working on in training and they have learnt over the previous games we have played with 5 new signings it was always going to take time to gel but it is now coming together just before the seasons start.
