Adam Hanson Signs For The Greenbacks

Winger Adam Hanson has signed for the greenbacks from Step 5 play off team Stourport Swifts.

Hanson’s previous clubs include Lye town and Redditch United.

Hanson netted 8 goals for Swifts last season, including a memorable ‘Jude Bellingham’ style scissor kick winner from the angle of the penalty box, in the last minutes of an FA Vase tie against Sherwood Collery

On signing for the Greenbacks, Hanson had to say this…. “I’m really excited to get started at Bedworth and hopefully we can have a big push for promotion this season. There’s a great set of players here, with top level coaching. Pre-season has been good, and I feel I’ve settled in quite well. I’m looking forward to getting going now. Up the Greenbacks!”

First team Head Coach Jamie Lenton is looking forward to seeing how the young winger adapts to Step 4 football, adding… “Adam looks to have all the credentials to become an excellent player at this level of football and beyond. He’s very quick, fit, has an abundance of skills and his attitude is top class. He’s smashed all the running sessions in pre-season so far, including the quickest 1km run time in the squad. He’s a left footed winger, that plays on the right, and he’s got the ability to take a full back on by checking inside for an attempt at goal, or going down the line to deliver a cross. I’m excited to see what he can do.”

Hanson goes straight into the squad for Bedworth United’s first pre-season friendly tomorrow against neighbours and newly formed Nuneaton Town FC. It’s a 1pm kick off at the Bedworth Utd Oval Stadium.

This will be the first time the two towns have met in over 15 years, so get yourselves down to the Oval Stadium to witness a piece of history and enjoy the local derby. The game will have half time entertainment from 4Tune Dance group and will be followed by live footage of England’s quarter final Euros 2024 tie against Switzerland in the ‘Greenbacks’ bar.
