Recap

Bedworth hosted Gresley Rovers looking to put last weeks defeat in controversial fashion    behind them.

Bedworth started well going straight on the front foot and not allowing Gresley to get any rhythm or much possession.  Bedworth won a number of corners but could not capitalise.  New signing Dilano Reid was causing havoc down the Bedworth left and Brett Lloyd combining with Liam Lockett was doing the same down the right.  On 20 minutes Bedworth were forced to make a change and youngster Liam Murphy was thrown into the mix,  The youngster             immediately started to make an impact with his pace and tenacity.  With the half ticking into time added on by the referee Reid played in inch perfect cross field ball from the left to the right where Lloyd controlled drove forward and delivered a low cross into the far post where Murphy at the second attempt prodded the ball past the Helpless Fenney in the Gresley goal.

Gresley came out the second half and for the first 10 minutes played their best football of the game but could not find a way past the Bedworth defence with William Edjenguele and Elliot Parrott dealing easily with anything thrown at them.  Murphy could have doubled his tally and Bedworth’s when a through ball found him one on one with Fenney but the visiting keeper won this battle closing down the youngster quick and not allowing him to get a shot away.  Murphy though would have a say in Bedworths second goal when robbed the Gresley defender and combined well with Lockett to put Curvin Sanderson-Ellis through one on one the big man did not disappoint and doubled Bedworth’s lead just shy of the hour mark.  Gresley were visibly deflated now and started to argue amongst themselves,  This didn’t help their cause and when Oli Babbington came off the bench and lined up a 30 yard free kick which he dispatched into the back of the Gresley net with 5 minutes to go the result was sealed and all 3 points were staying at The OVAL
