Bedworth Utd Academy are thrilled to announce the signing of midfielder Charlie Lenton to the Academy ranks for the 2024-25 season.
Charlie is a ball playing midfielder with excellent technical ability, who likes to get on the ball and link defence to attack. Charlies previous clubs include Coventry Copsewood (where he played since the age of 5) and Carl Baker Academy, where he played in the MJPL for 3 seasons. He has attracted the attention of several academies including Coventry City, Aston Villa, Leicester City and more recently Wolves. Last season 2023-24, Charlie picked up the ‘players player of the season’ award for Coventry Copsewood u16s.
Charlie has represented his school team, Caludon Castle and featured in the 2024 Coventry Schools final at the Coventry Building Society Arena. He also represented the West Midlands County school team on numerous occasions.
Charlie is looking forward to joining the Academy. Having completed the Academy pre-season, he is looking to achieve a good standard of education, with the possibility of progressing to University. He has already established himself in the u18s Midland Floodlit Championship winning team, playing a part in the FA Youth Cup win away at Stourport Swifts. Charlie is looking to consistently perform for the u18s over his 2 year scholarship and eventually push for a place in the 1st team. The football club are excited to see if Charlie, amongst other Academy signings, can fulfil his potential at Bedworth Utd FC. Welcome to the Academy Charlie, we are looking forward to working with you.
