EARLY STRIKE ENDS BEDWORTH’S FA TROPHY RUN
Bedworth United 0–1 Redditch United. Bedworth United bowed out of the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday following a narrow 1–0 defeat at home to Redditch United.
The match was decided after just four minutes. Bedworth goalkeeper Sam Lomax made a fine initial save from a dangerous cross, but Whyte-Hall reacted fastest to turn home the rebound for the visitors.
Stung by the early setback, the Greenbacks dominated possession and applied relentless pressure for the remainder of the contest. The Greenbacks created a succession of clear-cut opportunities in the second half, pinning Redditch into their own box. However, a combination of resolute defending and a lack of clinical finishing meant Bedworth were unable to capitalise on their dominance.
Despite a tense final period, Redditch held firm to advance to the First Round Proper. Bedworth now turn their full focus back to Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division action.
