Bedworth United return to cup action tomorrow afternoon as Redditch United make the trip to The Oval in the Isuzu FA Trophy.

With a place in the next round at stake, the Greenbacks will be looking to produce another strong cup performance on home soil and continue their FA Trophy journey.

THE OPPOSITION

Redditch United arrive in Bedworth having enjoyed an encouraging start to their cup campaign.

The Reds progressed in the FA Cup last weekend with a 3-0 victory over Evesham United, before returning to league action on Monday night and recording a dramatic 2-1 win over Racing Club Warwick, with a late header securing all three points.

That victory came despite Redditch playing with ten men, although manager Jimmy Fry has subsequently called for improved discipline after the side picked up their third red card of the season.

Redditch’s 2026/27 record currently includes two wins, three draws and three defeats from their opening eight Southern League Premier Central fixtures, while they have also progressed well in the FA Cup qualifying rounds.

GREENBACKS LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK

Bedworth will be hoping to respond positively after a disappointing league result last weekend, when Boston Town left The Oval with a 2-0 victory. Tuesday evening saw a 0-0 away at Rusden & Diamonds.

Prior to that, however, the Greenbacks had enjoyed success in the FA Trophy, travelling to Boldmere St Michaels and returning home with a convincing 3-1 win to book their place in this round.

That result followed a closely fought opening to the campaign, and cup football has already provided Bedworth with an opportunity to build momentum.

With progression the only thing that matters, the Greenbacks will need to combine the attacking threat shown at Boldmere with the defensive discipline required to keep a strong Redditch side at bay.

CUP FOOTBALL AT THE OVAL

Tomorrows tie promises to be an intriguing contest between two sides who have already shown their ability to make progress in the national cup competitions this season.

Redditch have been particularly busy in recent weeks, while Bedworth will be eager to put home advantage to good use and give the supporters something to celebrate.

The FA Trophy can produce its own brand of cup drama, and with no league points at stake, both teams know that 90 minutes — and potentially extra time or penalties if required by the competition rules — stand between them and the next round.

For Bedworth, the message is simple: compete from the first whistle, make The Oval count and give everything for the opportunity to continue the Trophy run.

Get down to The Oval, get behind the team and help create a big-match atmosphere as Bedworth United take on Redditch United with a place in the next round of the Isuzu FA Trophy on the line.
