Greenbacks Head to Steel Park

Bedworth United return to Northern Premier League action tomorrow evening as the Greenbacks make the trip to Steel Park to face Corby Town, with kick-off at 7:45pm.

It is another important test for Bedworth, who have made a positive start to the season and currently sit 7th in the table, while Wednesday’s hosts Corby Town occupy 21st place.

The Greenbacks will be looking to continue that encouraging early-season form and come away from Northamptonshire with another valuable result.

Corby Await

Despite their position in the table, Corby are unlikely to be short of confidence after back-to-back 3-3 draws in their last two league outings.

The Steelmen shared six goals with AFC Rushden & Diamonds on Bank Holiday Monday before producing another entertaining 3-3 draw away at Loughborough Students on Saturday.

That recent scoring form means Bedworth will need to be alert from the opening whistle. Corby have shown that they can cause problems in the final third, but their defensive record has also given opponents opportunities.

For the Greenbacks, the challenge will be to exploit those opportunities while maintaining the organisation and discipline that has helped produce a strong start to the campaign.

A Chance to Build Momentum

With Bedworth sitting sixth after the opening rounds of the season, Wednesday provides another opportunity to build momentum and strengthen their position towards the top end of the table.

The early league table remains tight, but every point picked up on the road could prove important as the season develops.

A positive result at Steel Park would give the Greenbacks another boost and underline their ambitions for what promises to be a competitive Midlands Division campaign.

The Opposition

Corby have endured a difficult opening to the league season, with their six matches producing just two points. However, their last two fixtures suggest that they are capable of making tomorrow evening an uncomfortable night for the visitors.

The hosts’ latest result — a 3-3 draw at Loughborough Students — shows that Bedworth cannot afford to underestimate them.

For the Greenbacks, keeping Corby’s attacking players quiet while taking advantage of chances at the other end will be key.

Head-to-Head

Bedworth United have enjoyed the better of the recent meetings with Corby Town, winning five of the last 14 encounters, compared with Corby’s six victories, with the other three matches ending in draws.

The most recent meeting came in March 2026, when the Greenbacks recorded an impressive 2-0 victory away at Corby Town.

In fact, Bedworth have won three of their last four meetings with Corby, including two victories at Steel Park:

Looking further back, the fixture has produced plenty of competitive encounters, with Bedworth winning seven, Corby winning six and three draws across the 16 meetings shown.

The Greenbacks have also scored 24 goals in those 16 matches, compared with 23 for Corby, highlighting just how closely contested this fixture has generally been.

With Bedworth heading into tomorrows game having already beaten Corby 2-0 at Steel Park in their most recent meeting, the Greenbacks will be hoping history can repeat itself and that another strong away performance can bring three valuable points back to Bedworth.

The return fixture is currently scheduled for Saturday 5 December, giving both sides plenty of incentive to make a statement in the first meeting of the campaign.
