The contrast in the opening two matches is particularly interesting. Rugby Borough have scored six goals, while Bedworth have yet to concede, recording two victories by a combined 2–0.
With both sides on six points, tonight’s result could see one club strengthen its position among the early pace-setters while the other suffers its first defeat of the campaign.
The two sides met twice in the league last season, with Bedworth United coming out on top on both occasions:
| Date | Competition | Result | Attendance |
| 4 Oct 2025 | NPL Midlands | Bedworth United 1–0 Rugby Borough | 148 |
| 17 Jan 2026 | NPL Midlands | Rugby Borough 0–2 Bedworth United | 112 |
Bedworth therefore have a 100% winning record in the previous two meetings, scoring three goals without reply.
