The Wait Is Over!
After weeks of preparation, pre-season games and hard work on the training ground, the real business begins tonight as Bedworth United get the season underway with a short trip to Coleshill Town.
The Greenbacks head to Pack Meadow for a 7.45pm kick-off knowing that tonight marks the start of another long and competitive season — and one that the players will be eager to begin on the front foot.
The hosts will provide a stern test, particularly with home advantage behind them, but Bedworth will travel with confidence and belief following the work that has gone into preparing for the new season.
Opening-day matches can often have an edge of unpredictability about them. New players are settling into their surroundings, teams are still finding their rhythm and there is inevitably plenty of excitement around the first competitive game.

M6 Junction 4 take A446 signposted Lichfield; turn right across dual Carriageway onto B4117 to Coleshill. After the school on right, turn right into Packington Lane, the ground is ½ mile on the left.
Recent Meetings:
There is certainly no shortage of history between these two sides, with Coleshill Town and Bedworth United having faced each other regularly in recent seasons.
The most recent meeting came back in February, when the two sides played out a goalless draw at Bedworth. On that occasion, 210 supporters watched the Greenbacks claim a point in a tight encounter.
Before that, Coleshill edged the October meeting 1-0 at Pack Meadow, making tonight’s trip another opportunity for Bedworth to put one over on their local rivals.
The Greenbacks will take plenty of encouragement from the previous season’s meetings, however. In April 2025, Bedworth produced an impressive performance at Pack Meadow, coming away with a 4-1 victory. Earlier that campaign, Coleshill had won 4-0 at Bedworth, meaning the two fixtures certainly provided contrasting fortunes.
