Bedworth United make the short trip to The Scholars Ground tomorrow to face Chasetown in the latest chapter of a pre season fixture that has produced plenty of competitive encounters over the years.
Recent meetings between the two sides suggest there is little to separate them. The last four league matches have seen Chasetown edge the record with two victories and two draws, including a 2-1 win at The Scholars Ground in January 2023. Earlier that season, the teams played out a goalless draw at the Oval.
The Greenbacks’ last victory over Chasetown came in May 2018, when a 2-1 win secured a place in the Evo-Stik South Division Play-Off Final. Earlier that campaign, Bedworth also claimed a 2-0 home league victory, highlighting the club’s ability to produce strong performances against the Scholars.
Looking further back, the fixture has often swung from one side to the other. Chasetown completed a league double in 2021/22 and have enjoyed home success in recent years, but Bedworth have also recorded memorable wins, including a 3-2 victory at The Scholars Ground in 2017 and a 1-0 FA Cup Second Qualifying Round triumph in 2016.
Overall, the last 12 meetings between the clubs have been remarkably even:
- Bedworth United wins: 5
- Draws: 2
- Chasetown wins: 5
