Firstly I would like to wish all of you, Players, Coaches, Staff, Volunteers and supporters good health and Seasons Greetings.

This time of year it’s nice to look back and reflect on the year gone by, looking back at this last 12 months as a club again we have taken steps forward. With 31 teams under the clubs banner of all ages and genders we are now one of the largest football clubs in the area. This in part is down to the relentless work of all of our Staff and volunteers be that the Junior Managers and Coaches or the small number of volunteers who daily maintain and keep the club running without these invaluable individuals the club would not be able to function and on behalf of myself and the other Directors I want to thank them wholeheartedly for everything they do. It always gives me a warm feeling when visiting directors’ comment on the hospitality and how welcome they are made to feel when they visit The Oval.

Our successful Academy has gone from strength to strength with over 50 students participating in this year .Huge thanks to Jamie and his staff. Following the departure of our Ladies Team management and consequently most of our players, time would not allow a continuation of the team this season. Rest assured every effort will be put in to start again with a new set up ready for next season.

Off the pitch again this year we have developed with the addition of the new tea bar and work starting on the new changing rooms. We are also in the process of installing LED floodlights to cut down on the horrendous energy costs. This cost is between 25 and 30 thousand pounds. Hopefully we will get a grant for around 70% (fingers crossed), the balance will be paid by the club. All of this will help the club in the future to maintain and develop its place in the community.

With the clubhouse now a much more welcoming venue we have started to lay on events and the recent comedy night was a great example of what we are looking to achieve and I am sure everybody who attended will agree it was a night of laughs and entertainment. The quiz night and singer we had was also a success and we look forward to seeing more of you here when we put on other entertainment nights.

I would like to thank everybody who donated to the appeal for toys for the women’s refuge shelter I was amazed at the quantity we collected and seeing the community come together and support such a worthy cause made me realise how much the Bedworth football community can do when they band together

I also want to thank all of the club’s sponsors not only the ones that sponsor the first team and club but also the ones who sponsor our junior teams. I know that currently times are hard for businesses as they are for all of us and these sponsorships are so appreciated by all involved with the club.

Amongst all of the good things that have happened this year there has been some sad moments with the passing of some of the clubs older supporters, Graham Bloxham, Peter Thompson, Dave Rogers and Club President Roy Whitehead all sadly passed away this year they along with any other of our supporters that we have lost will all be sadly missed.

The club is in a good position. To maintain and improve we are always looking for help, be that in the form of Sponsorship or volunteering, you might not think that there is anything you could do to contribute, but you will be surprised if you knew what goes on in the background to keep this club improving and running as it is.

Finally I would just like to wish everyone a Happy and prosperous New Year, please keep safe and I look forward to seeing you all in 2023.
